Police officers across China last Tuesday started aninteractive training program on upgraded dutyprotocol, in a bid to prevent abuse of power.
全国民警于上周二开始进行一项旨在提升执法礼仪的交互式培训项目，从而避免滥用职权。
The program mainly focused on duties involving closecontact with the public, according to a statementreleased from the Ministry of Public Security.

Officers were instructed to always carry their policeID while on duty and, when encountering obstruction, videotape the whole interaction.

When suspects, or those associated with them, resist law enforcement, officers were directedto use mild disengagement and restraint maneuvers instead of physical assault.

The new protocols are more detailed and practical than previous versions and were informedby recent successful practice, the ministry said.

The ministry also plans to roll out a supervision mechanism to ensure police officers follow thenew protocols, the statement said.
