高尔基说过了：“书籍是人类进步的阶梯。”这句话的确很有道理。书籍在人类的文明史上发挥了不可替代的重要作用。通过书面记载，语言、文字、图画能够较为完好地保存下来，并且可以大量印制，方便人类的阅读、学习，有利于人类知识的传承。然而近年来中国读书的人越来越少，调查统计结果显示仅1999-2001年间中国读书的人数占全国人口比例就下降了8个百分点。是的，新的时代下，生活节奏加快，工作和学习的压力很大，人们逐渐被眼前的纷繁芜杂迷乱了双眼，渐渐忘记了书存在的价值。互联网的出现的确获取信息带来了便利，但是互联网毕竟只是一种单纯的阅读工具，任何事物都无法完全替代书的作用以及书的价值，因为书承载了太多的历史文明，需要通过书本探索与思考的东西还有很多很多。
